RITUAL BODY WALKING (ALUK TODOLO) WEST TORAJA, MAMASA

Hey guys do you know that Indonesia have so many culture??? Maybe some of you know Ngaben (cremation) in Bali for Hindu... Here i want to share something other, that is ritual body walking from West Toraja. Maybe some of you ever went to Bali or Jakarta.. Don't keep on your mind if Indonesia is that small.. We are very big and have so many culture... From traditional till modern...Do you know that Indonesia has around 546 languages. Is that cool??? :D :D :D Well, Im proud with that :D Other than Indonesian language I also can speak Javanese cause I live in central Java we also have traditional alphabet too. Do you wanna see it???

A ritual that is so full of mystery that is owned by the people of Toraja (West) on the funeral Walking corpse.

Toraja tribe is a tribe that settled in the mountains of the northern part of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Its population is estimated at around 1 million people, with 500,000 of whom still live in Tana Toraja, North Toraja Regency, and Regency Mamasa.

ayoritas Toraja tribes embraced Christianity, while the majority embraced Islam and animism known as Aluk To Dolo. The Indonesian government has recognized this belief as part of Hinduism Dharma.

"The story of walking corpses had been there since time immemorial . Hundreds of years ago is said to be civil war in the Tana Toraja people Toraja Toraja Western war against the East . In the battle defeated West Toraja people because most of them were killed , but at the moment will not return with their entire bodies of the West Toraja runs , while the East Toraja although only a few were killed but they carried the bodies of their dead relatives , because the incidence of the battle is considered the series . In the subsequent descent Toraja people often buried the body in a way the bodies are walking alone to the grave . "

That could make a corpse run only certain people and not just anybody . Bodies usually led to a grave , but before execution of this procession , there are a few of the family members must inform the local community that there will be bodies that will pass and people were forbidden to greet the body that will pass , because when the body called the corpse will fall by itself . The bodies will not walk alone , but will be accompanied by an entourage and the women will come from behind with a red cloth on their heads . But this time , it is increasingly rare people who perform rituals ( walking corpse ) this .
